Early Life
The youngest of five siblings, Aaron Paul Sturtevant was born on August 27th,1979, in Emmet, Idaho to mother, Darla, and father, retired Baptist minister, Robert Sturtevant. Growing up, Aaron continuously appeared in church plays and cultivated his love for the performing arts.
Education and CareerÂ
Taking a gamble, Aaron and his mom moved to Los Angeles where he made his first ever TV appearance as a contestant on the show The Price is Right.
Paul’s interest in the theater and film production was first piqued while attending Centennial High School. Appearing in local plays and commercials was nothing new to the 17 year old Aaron.
Later he decided to roll the dice once more and leave for Los Angeles at 19 to participate in the International Modeling and Talent Association Competition, where he grabbed the runner up place and got signed with a manager.
Soon thereafter he caught the attention of casting agents and producers, landing small roles on popular series such as CSI: Miami, ER, Criminal Minds and Bones.
Big Breakthroughs
Paul found his first breakthrough when he was cast as Jesse Pinkman on the AMC drama, Breaking Bad, in 2008. This role earned him three Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, among many other accolades.
Additionally, Paul has appeared in Need For Speed, Triple 9, A Long Way Down and Exodus: Gods and Kings, as well as Westworld, and El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie.
Life After Breaking Bad
When Breaking Bad ended in 2013, Paul went on to star in other projects such as BoJack Horseman, and The Path, as well as Black Mirror, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Additionally, he’s become a successful entrepreneur by going into a partnership with Breaking Bad co-star Bryan Cranston and starting a mezcal company called Dos Hombres.
Award & Recognition
Paul has earned multiple accolades and awards for his craft, including three Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series; three Saturn Awards for Best Supporting Actor on Television; three Online Film & Television Association Award; and in 2014 was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Miniseries or Motion Picture Made for Television.
Personal Life
Aaron Paul and film producer Lauren Parsekian have been married since 2013. They have two children, Ryden Caspian Paul and Story Annabelle. When Paul is not busy acting, he likes to spend his downtime with his friend playing video games or poker and he still calls L.A. his home. Kind Campaign and Straight But Not Narrow are some of the many charities Paul volunteers at.
