Lili Reinhart's birthday
American actress Lili Reinhart is best known for playing Betty Cooper in the CW TV network’s teen drama series Riverdale. She is also known for her roles as Grace in Chemical Hearts and Lorene Scafaria’s black comedy crime drama film Hustlers (2019) as Annabelle.
Lili Pauline Reinhart was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on September 13, 1996. She is half German and half French; her last name, Reinhart, is of German descent. She developed her passion for acting when she was a young girl. Reinhart got a role in a community play at the age of ten and would also put on plays for her family. Besides that, she often asked her mother to drive her to auditions in New York. She later moved to Los Angeles at 18 to pursue her acting dream.
Reinhart faced many obstacles on her path to becoming a successful actress and was almost tempted to give up. Fortunately, she was cast as a guest star in the TV series Law and Order (2011) and the films The Kings of Summer (2013), Forever’s End (2013), and The Good Neighbor (2016). She later worked on Surviving Jack, a sitcom that aired on Fox.
Reinhart played Betty Cooper in Riverdale, a TV show based on Archie Comics characters. The show’s creator, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, first choice was Kiernan Shipka for the part, but after seeing her work on Mad Men, he picked Reinhart. Riverdale became Reinhart’s boost to success in her acting career. However, the actress says she is not interested in acting in another TV show after Riverdale. In 2017, she starred in Galveston (2018), a film based on Nic Pizzolatto’s novel.
Reinhart starred in Hustlers (2019) as Anabelle, a former stripper turned gang member who drugged and robbed their Wall Street clients. She describes her character as “slutty Hannah Montana.” The movie was a success, receiving positive reviews.
The same year, she played the lead female role in the Amazon Studios movie Chemical Hearts. The film is a romantic drama based on Krystal Sutherland’s 2016 novel, Our Chemical Hearts. Besides acting, Reinhart is also credited with being an executive producer for the movie. Later, she starred in Look Both Ways, written by Wanuri Kahiu. In this film, Reinhart plays a college student juggling motherhood and a career. She was also the executive producer of the film.
Lili was diagnosed with depression at the age of 14. She also has anxiety and body dysmorphia, a mental health condition that makes a person obsess over flaws in their body. She released a book on poetry, Swimming Lessons: Poems, that focuses on anxiety, depression, young love, heartbreaks, and fame. The book debuted at No. 2 on the New York Times bestseller list.
Reinhart has several accolades to her name. Her role in Riverdale won several awards and nominations. She bagged three Teen Choice Awards, a Saturn Award, and a Variety + H&M Conscious Award. She was also twice nominated for the People’s Choice Award, among others. American Express appointed Reinhart as an ambassador for the launch of its AmexGreen Card. She is also an ambassador and spokesman for Covergal, an American cosmetic brand.
