International Doodle Dog Day
Fluffy coats, happy paws, and bouncing steps fill the world of International Doodle Dog Day. This joyful day celebrates doodle dogs—playful mixes like goldendoodles, labradoodles, and Aussiedoodles.
Their soft fur and bright eyes pull people in wherever they go. Known for their sweet nature and lively charm, these dogs turn everyday moments into little bursts of happiness.
Beyond all the fun, the day honors the strong bond doodles share with their people. Many doodles bring comfort as therapy dogs, offering quiet support with a simple cuddle. Their sharp minds and eager hearts make them quick to learn and easy to love.
International Doodle Dog Day invites everyone to pause, smile, and treasure the loyal, loving spirit packed into every fluffy friend.

History of International Doodle Dog Day
International Doodle Dog Day started in 2015, thanks to Jeanine North, who co-founded Ripley & Rue. She loved doodle dogs and wanted a special day to celebrate them. Her idea quickly grew, pulling in doodle lovers from all over the world.
Now, people everywhere take time to appreciate their curly-haired companions during this joyful event.
The doodle story goes back even further. In 1955, British speed racer Donald Campbell jokingly called his dog a Labradoodle because it was part Labrador, part Poodle. However, the Labradoodle we know today really came to life in the 1980s.
Wally Conron, an Australian breeder, crossed a Labrador with a Poodle to create a guide dog for a woman whose husband had allergies. This new dog kept the smart, friendly nature of a Labrador and added the low-shedding coat of a Poodle.
International Doodle Dog Day now celebrates all poodle-mix breeds. It honors their charm, intelligence, and loving spirit. Dog owners meet up, share photos, and spend extra time with their doodles. Every wagging tail on this day reminds people just how special these dogs are.
