We all have fights with our nearest and dearest now and again. Whether a sibling dispute, a marital tiff, a spat with a best friend or a clash with the parents; whether it’s about a lie, a misunderstanding, relationships or the state of the kitchen, today it’s time to kiss and make up.

Learn about National Kiss And Make Up Day

The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.

Mahatma Gandhi

Sometimes a grudge gets held too long or we allow the little things that irritate us in a relationship to become bigger than they really are; National Kiss And Make Up Day works to end those frosty silences, mood swings and critical comments. Instead, buy the person you love flowers, say sorry and tell them how much they mean to you, or if all else fails chocolate is usually a swift way to a person’s heart.

Today celebrates the fact that kissing and making up is the best part of an argument (especially where lovers are concerned), and sometimes even makes the fight worthwhile. Annoying habits and irritability aside, it’s good to have the people you love around you. So remember not to take loved ones for granted and appreciate the good stuff in your relationship. Top it all off with a big smooch and you’ve fully embraced the spirit of the day.

History of National Kiss And Make Up Day

I think the first step is to understand that forgiveness does not exonerate the perpetrator. Forgiveness liberates the victim. It’s a gift you give yourself.

T. D. Jakes

We have Jacqueline Milgate to thank for National Kiss And Make Up Day and the friendships and relationships that we mend on this important day. Of the Hilton, New York, Jacqueline Milton decided to create this day so that we had a dedicated period in our lives to focus on those relationships that have broken down, looking at different ways to repair them. If you are someone who often likes to bury their head in the sand instead of dealing with problems, this day gives you the opportunity to face issues head-on and resolve them once and for all so that you can move forward.

How to celebrate National Kiss And Make Up Day

The best way to celebrate National Kiss And Make Up Day is to kiss and make up, of course! Think about a relationship that has gone south over the past few years. This could be a relationship that has been totally destroyed or it could be a relationship that has faded away. OIt may even be a relationship that you don’t think you need.

For example, you may have fallen out with a friend, and you may not even feel like you want that person back into your life. Well, you don’t have to become best friends again. That’s not what kissing and making up is about. Yes, you can repair your relationship fully, and it’s great if that is what you want to do. However, for some people, it can simply be a case of learning to forgive, put the past behind you, and move on so you can have a civil relationship.

You can also seek forgiveness in the form of some flowers and a “sorry” card. If you have done something wrong and you want to build bridges, a bunch of flowers is a good place to start. Consider the meaning of the flowers when purchasing to ensure they are appropriate and that the symbolization is relevant. Allium plants are a good example. They boast a beautiful appearance. In fact, they have often been used by famous artists, such as Rembrandt and Baker, who have highlighted their magnificence in their creations.

They also boast a lovely meaning, as they symbolise humility and patience, as well as unity, with this stemming from the fact that the plant comes from a single bulb. When you consider the attractiveness of this plant and the beautiful meaning that is associated with it, it is not difficult to see why there are different uses for this plant, and why they are often included in flower arrangement for a loved one. You can either go for fresh or artificial flowers.

Artificial flowers have progressed to the point where it is virtually impossible to tell the difference between these blooms and fresh flowers. Artificial flowers boast many benefits as well, as they are easy to look after, they last forever, and they are cost efficient too. The fact that they last forever can also be symbolic of your relationship. Little touches like this can make a big difference.

Of course, buying a gift is not appropriate for all situations and you may not even feel like you’re the one in the wrong. Also, you may not want the apology to be dressed up with flowers and bravado. Everyone is different. Instead, simply breaking the silence can be enough for the healing process to begin.

Even if you feel like you have not done anything wrong, now is not the time to be stubborn. It is the time for compromise. It could be that you have acted perfectly fine, but that the other person feels like they have been wronged. It is important to understand their thoughts and feelings, even if you do not agree with them.

A lot of people think that apologizing makes them weak. However, it is important to view this as a strength, rather than a weakness. When you blame someone else or you misdirect someone, your apology becomes diluted. The mature thing to do in a situation is to apologize and be the bigger person. You should also make sure your apology is sincere and genuine.

A half-hearted apology can be worse than not giving an apology at all, as it can feel like you’re doing it only because you feel like you have to. Of course, we are not implying that you should say sorry in every situation, but it is definitely something to think about if you feel a bit torn between apologizing and not apologizing at the moment.
