History of National Indoor Plant Week
Started in 2007 by plant expert Mark Martin, the inspiration behind this event is the founder’s belief that indoor plants are vital for a healthy lifestyle and for connecting with nature.
For more than 15 years, plant enthusiasts have been gathering during this week, whether in person or virtually, to promote the well-being that plants can offer to human beings of practically any age.
National Indoor Plant Week has grown throughout its life, inspiring more people to get involved. Each year, more organizations and companies get involved with supporting events such as free plant giveaways, educational activities, and more.
